Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Lual (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the Lual mobile app and related services, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email allena12212@gmail.com.
1. Information we collect
Account & profile. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive identifiers and basic profile details those providers share (such as name and email). You may also set a username, display name, avatar, timezone, and optional phone number. After signup we may ask for a phone number so friends can find you via contact lookup; this is optional — you can skip it and still use Lual, and you can add or remove a number later in Profile.
Calendar & social data. Events, categories, sleep hours, groups, plans, friendships, invites, and privacy settings you create in Lual.
Photos & text you submit for AI import. If you use schedule import, images or text you submit are sent to our servers so we can parse them into draft events for you to review.
Microphone & speech (optional). If you tap the mic on AI schedule import to dictate, the app uses your device’s microphone and the operating system’s speech recognition APIs (for example Apple’s Speech framework on iOS). Recognition may send audio to Apple (or the device OS provider) to convert speech to text. We do not store raw audio on Lual’s servers; the resulting text stays in the import field for you to review, and if you submit it for AI parsing it is handled like other schedule text you type.
Optional device permissions. Camera/photo library (schedule photos and profile/group images); contacts (when you use Find Friends, we send only normalized last-10 phone digits needed to find matches on Lual — those digits are used for the match request and are not stored as your contact book; we do not upload contact names or your full contact list); device calendar (optional sync); microphone and speech recognition (only when you dictate a schedule); and push notification tokens.
Reports & blocks. If you block or report another user, we store that information so we can moderate the service.
Technical data. Basic server logs needed to operate and secure the service (for example authentication tokens presented to our API, and timestamps).
2. How we use information
- Provide accounts, calendars, groups, plans, and friend features
- Show friends and groups busy/free availability (event titles stay private unless you opt in)
- Parse schedules you submit via our AI import feature (including dictated text you choose to submit)
- Send push or in-app notifications about plans and activity you care about
- Enforce our Terms, review reports, and keep the service safe
- Respond to support requests and improve reliability
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to run Lual:
- Other users you connect with. Friends and group members can see profile details you choose to show and, by default, only when you are busy — not event titles — unless you turn on “show event details to friends.”
- Supabase. Hosts our database, authentication, and file storage under our configuration and access controls.
- Google Gemini (via our backend). Schedule photos/text you submit for AI import are processed to return structured draft events. Do not submit content you do not want processed for that purpose.
- Apple / Google. For sign-in, according to your choices with those providers. On iOS, if you use dictation, speech recognition may also process audio via Apple’s speech services under Apple’s privacy terms.
- Legal / safety. If required by law or to protect users, we may disclose information as necessary.
4. Calendar privacy defaults
By default, friends see busy/free time ranges — not what you are doing. You can optionally allow friends to see event details in Settings. Group plans you create or join may be visible to participants in that plan or group as part of coordinating together.
5. Retention & deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account). That removes your account data from our systems subject to short-term backups and any records we must retain for legal, security, or abuse-prevention reasons (for example recent reports).
6. Your choices
- Update profile and privacy settings in the app
- Revoke device permissions (including microphone and speech recognition) in your phone’s settings
- Block or report other users
- Delete your account in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account)

7. Children
Lual is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), authenticated API access, and database access controls (including row-level security). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. International users
We may process information in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. By using Lual, you understand your information may be transferred to those locations.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
